GAPPLAST 2015 Exhibition will be held in Gaziantep which is a very important production center of plastics and chemicals sector, and a nice example of sector clustering. Plastics and chemicals sector is among the significant sectors of Turkey in terms of capacity, production and export power, employment and added value. According to Turkish Exporters Assembly's 2014 data, Gaziantep remains as 6th largest exporter city of Turkey with approximately 7 billion dollars of exports. With new investments, largest Organized Industrial Zone of Turkey is a success of Gaziantep's entrepreneurs and industrialists. Gaziantep was selected among top 7 competitive cities of the world by the World Bank's Competitive Cities Knowledge Base (CCKB) Project, and is being considered as an economically successful and interesting city. Being shown as a model for emerging cities of the world, Gaziantep provides economic integration between the Middle East and the West, involving economic and social development dynamics of sustainable development process or our country, and is a cultural bridge at the same time.
With a 30,000 m2 closed exhibition area, and 90,000 m2 open exhibition area with full infrastructure, parking lot for 10,000 cars, strong technical infrastructure, fully fledged media center, multi-purpose meeting halls, cool and hot acclimatization infrastructure, Middle East Exhibition Center is becoming the unique exhibition center of the region, and outstanding as the convention center of Industry and Trade at the region. Through a couple of alternative routes, transportation to the exhibition center is extremely easy. It is located a 15 km distance from the city center, 6 km from central bus terminal, and 25km from the airport, for visitors who prefer airways to come from foreign countries and other cities of Turkey. Exhibition center is located at only 1 km distance to Gaziantep-Adana highway, and shuttles are available to from certain spots in town to the exhibition center.
